So, here's the thing about SS. We, your beloved staffers, trust you. We believe that you don't NEED us to restate the basics since you know them. You know to be kind, respectful, to use only what is yours, to not godmode, etc, etc, so why should we bother reminding you? No one ever reads that the rules if they're super fucking long, anyway, so we're going to skip the obvious.
Nevertheless, here are some clarifications for material that may be less intuitive.
- No nizzling under any circumstances.
- You may swear or be reasonably inappropriate (ooc AND ic) to your heart's content. We welcome the tasteless here, because let's face it, we ARE tasteless.
- One character per account. There is no character limit but please don't bite off more than you can chew.
- Your display name should be your character's first name and last name in all caps (ex., ALEX KAPRANOS) and without symbols.
- Liquid time (i.e., roleplaying your character in multiple threads at the same time) is allowed.
- There is no minimum word count for posts, but that doesn't mean we're indulging one-liners. Write something solid that you're proud of.
- Don't stretch the board with images, although there is no concrete size limit (500px is probably a good rule of thumb to keep in mind), and keep your avatar size reasonable, too.
- While you can have fun with eye color (so long as it's not, well, rainbow) we ask that appearances remain realistic. On that note, we are a realistic roleplay, so no magic, either.
- Some character particularities must be purchased: melanism, albinism or mental conditions are some of these. For a full list, check out the store catalog.
- We reserve the right to total authority, e.g. if we decide to decline a bio or suggest that you rewrite a post we promise we're not doing it without reason, so please oblige!
If you have any questions whatsoever, please do not hesitate to PM a staffer, post HERE, or ask Fernando (our friendly neighborhood cbox). A good rule of thumb, however, is that if you have to ask whether or not it's okay, just don't do it.
Respect your staff and fellow members, listen to your own common sense, and stay active... and you'll do just swimmingly! Now go get posting!
Sincerely, Ren & Deau
