Only so little into Standstill, and yet... I'm afraid I'll have to post a closing thread. I'm not deleting the site or anything in it, not putting it into maintenance mode - think of this more as a discussion thread than anything else.
The thing is, with Frenny, your admin number two, gone, SS won't be SS for me anymore - I don't want to do it without her, it was our baby and it deserves both its parents or none.
However.
I still love SS and it pains me to have to do this, which is why I'd like to keep it open for discussion. If anyone has any brilliant ideas, please let me know.
In any case, I'll be sticking around for a while longer checking in to see y'all, because you are all an amazing crew and I was honored to have had you as part of SS, even if it didn't last all that long.

I have to say I am more than disappointed. I mean...we all, including you admins put so much work into the site, I would hate to see it close in less than a month. There has to be something that us members can do in order to keep this place alive, because I really don't want to see it die. I have put SO much effort into advertising, making my characters and replying, and even putting money into the c-box because I have faith in you guys, I have faith that we can make this place work. At least for longer than one month. :{ I don't mean to sound rude or anything but I am just really disappointed. I was hoping STANDSTILL would last much longer, as this is such as well put together site and it has so much friggen potential to last. I...I don't know what to suggest to save this place, but I really want to try. Can we not hire more admins to help you run the place? Can we advertise more? Or...is it just that you guys are no longer interested in running it at all, because you can hire a mod to accept character and then the site can still be active, at least by the roleplayers.
I don't know. :( I am really sorry you guys. I really am, and I don't know what to do in order to help, even though I desperately want to.

Wow :/ I.. don't have a lot to comment. I'm gonna miss Standstill, even if it took me forever to even get Icky done. But I loved the people on it. You all are amazing.
Alas, c'est la vie. Hope I can see you some other time somewhere. |

As heartbreaking as this is, it's just .. -shrug- Is what it is. With Renren gone, I'll admit the feel of the place has become just a bit damper. She was, simply, a true piece of the heart of this site. And even though it makes me sad, I feel like without her we simply will not last a long as we could have.
That being said, I don't feel like there is no other option than to allow SS to drift: advertising can't fix this, and hiring more Admin won't bring back what was here.

I can see why you'd want to close, Deau. I mean, without Ren, it's probably weird. I liked Standstill. It was new and original. If you feel like there's no more you can do for it, then by all means, let it go. It won't work if the admins aren't committed, so it might just be better for everyone overall.. However, I've made some friends here, and I don't want to lose them because the site went down.
